After you defeat a monster, wouldn’t it be nice to gain a reward? You can look for treasure with the [L]ook command, which will ask if you want to look for treasure or a secret door. Press the [T] key to look for treasure. If there’s treasure in the room, you will be shown an illustration of the item you’ve found, and its description. Some items, like gold and jewelry, simply add to your wealth. But you may find weapons, armor, and even magical items. If an item gives you an additional power, the description will explain the power and what keyboard command (if any) will activate it.
To pick up an item, move the Warrior over the item, and use the [T]ake item command. If you want, you can also [D]rop an item. Don’t worry about how much you’re carrying, you handy magic bag can hold it all.
If you don’t see any doorway on a wall of the room, there might just be a secret door there. Move the Warrior to near where the doorway should be, and use the [L]ook command, followed by the [S]ecret door option. You may have to discover secret doors in order to reach all parts of the dungeon.
As you explore, you’ll find better weapons, armor, or even a shield. To change what you’re wearing or wielding, use the [C]hange command, and then choose [W]eapon or [A]rmor. Then select the item you want from the list. You can of course only wear one suit of armor, and optionally carry a shield. As well, you can wield one weapon at a time. (Press the [Enter] key if you choose not to change your weapon or armor at this point.)
To see a list of all the items you’re carrying, use the [I]nventory command.
To see the details of a given item, use the [E]xamine Item command. (This shows you the same information and illustration as when you first found the item.)
