This shows how using Windows, you can launch the trs80gp emulator, and then run GEMQUEST/CMD directly.
The trs80gp emulator appears to work well under WINE, which is an environment for running Windows apps on Mac or Linux. I spent a couple of hours playing GemQuest on my Mac using the friendly WINE wrapper called PlayOnMac.
Here are step-by-step instructions that worked for me:
PlayOnMac configuration window, click New to make a new virtual drive.32 bits windows installation", and the SYSTEM version of WINE.PlayOnMac configuration window, click on your newly-made virtual drive, then click the Miscellaneous tab and click Open virtual drive's directory.drive_c folder, and copy both trs80gp.exe and GEMQUEST.CMD there.PlayOnMac configuration window, click the General tab, and click Make a new shortcut from this virtual drive.trs80gp.exe and click Next.GemQuest, and click Next.I don't want to make another shortcut and click Next.GemQuest shortcut in the left-hand pane.Arguments field, type C:\GEMQUEST.CMDIf you use Linux, you're not looking for step-by-step instructions, right? it should be good enough to know that trs80gp works well under WINE :-)
